How Can You Say Jesus Wasn't Talking to Me?

Please take the time to read these verses before reading the text below:

Romans 15:8
Romans 9:5
Matthew 10:5-6
Matthew 15:24
John 1:11

All of these verses illustrate who Jesus was sent to "in His EARTHLY ministry."

This is the whole purpose of me always talking about the "mystery."

The mystery explains how God is directly with everyone today,  and not just Israel. The mystery (salvation to Jews and Gentiles alike- by grace through faith) was not known until is was revealed. This revealing does not take place until at least Acts 9, via the Lord Himself to the Apostle Paul.

Look at 1 Timothy 1:16.... What does this verse mean. Read Ephesians 3:3-6... What does this mean?

This is the whole reason for me saying that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John do not contain information that applies to the Body of Christ. The Church, the Body of Christ,  did not even exist yet, except for in God's "hidden" purpose.

Romans 16:25
"Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,"

2 Timothy 2:15 & 3:16- All scripture is for us, but not all scripture is to us.

1 Thessalonians 2:13- Jesus did speak to you friend, just not all of His dialogue to you is in the color "red."

Ephesians 3:9- Paul had a goal set before him, whereas many today do not even acknowledge the "fellowship of the mystery. "

Bible Study Prep Questions:
Who's the speaker?
Who's the audience?
What's the content?
Does it apply to the church in the dispensation of grace?

Who is Jesus (Part 2)

Who is Jesus (Part 2)
Click the link above to Listen
The focus of this message is to make the clear distinction between Jesus' earthly ministry to Israel only, versus his ministry to Jews and Gentiles alike, through the Apostle Paul.

 Who is Jesus? (Part 2)

-Jesus, according to His earthly ministry to Israel vs. His ministry to the Gentiles, through Apostle Paul-
1.) Jesus: A Minister of the Circumcision
  • “WWJD?” This is so cliché, but the question carries a lot more impact than most would consider… It’s actually one of the most important questions to ask if you want to know how to understand your Bible.
  • Jesus Christ came as the fulfillment of prophecy to be the Messiah for the nation Israel.
  • Rom 15:8 & 9:5, Mat 10:5-6, John 4:22 Mark 7:26-27, Mat 15:24
  • All of the books in our bible, except for Paul’s 13 epistles, are for our learning, but not for our direct participation, as the body of Christ. There are some topics that even Paul covers that are not for us because he
  1. sometimes addresses Israel (Romans 9,10, and 11) and
  2. he was operating in a time where spiritual gifts were either flourishing, fading or had faded. (1 Cor. 14:18, 1 Cor.13:8-10, Eph. 4:12-13, 1 Timothy 5:23)
2.) Jesus: Ministering through His 12 Apostles
  • What was happening in Jesus’ earthly ministry?
  • He chose twelve men… why? - Mark 3:14
  • What would Jesus do? He said go only to Israel - Matt 10:5-6, 15:24
  • He promised the twelve men that they would rule in the kingdom - Matt 19:28
  • Peter was waiting for this restitution and regeneration; he was encouraging others to do the same - Acts 3:19-21, 1 Peter 1:13, 3:15- You should consider Titus 1:9 as your defense verse.
  • Jesus said go to Jerusalem and stay there – Luke 24:47-492
  • Peter says: Ye men of Israel – (12 tribes) - Acts 2:22, Acts 3:21, 24-26
  • Hebrews are Jews – the new covenant was with them - Heb 8:8-10
  • James 1:1 – written to … (not the church)
3.) Jesus: According to the “Revelation of the Mystery”
  • Due to the Revelation of the mystery, there is a mountain of doctrinal change as compared to the Old Testament, and even the New Testament.
  • Jesus began to minister in a whole new capacity after revealing the mystery to Paul.
  • Eph 3:3-5, Col 1:26-27, 1 Cor 2:7 & 4:1, Col 2:2 Rom 11:25 & 16:25, Gal 1:11-12, Eph 6:19, 1Tim 3:9
4.) Jesus: Ministering through the Apostle Paul
  • After the change from the prophecy program to dispensation of grace began to take place, the operation of the 12 apostle began to decrease as the Apostle Paul became Jesus’ main mode of operation and ministry: Rom 15:16, 2Cor 5:16, Titus 2:1
  • 1Cor 4:16 & 11:1, 1Tim 1:16, Phi 3:17 & 4:9 1Thes 4:1, 2Thes 2:15, 2Tim 2:7
5.) Jesus: Offering Salvation Not of Works
  • Any person that ever has or ever will be saved has been so due to faith. Salvation has always required Faith. The salvation in the dispensation of grace is different from the salvation offered before, because in the dispensation of grace, works are not necessary for salvation.
  • Salvation that requires Work- Jam 2:24, Acts 10:35, John 5:29, 1Pet 4:18, Luke 10:25-28,
     Rev 22:14, Deut 6:25
  • Salvation without ANY WORKS- Rom 4:5, Titus 3:5-7, 2Tim 1:9, Eph 2:8-9
  • Rom 3:24 & 5:8 & 6:14, Gal 2:16

Joy to the World

I only hear this song around Christmas, but there's a "rest of the story" to be told. This song is 300 years old and Isaac Watts never intended for this song to be a "Christmas Hymn." His purpose for writing this song was not to sing the detail of Christ's first coming,  but rather to illustrate Christ's future (second) coming.

This song is sung as if it is presently applicable. Jesus came, yes, but Israel rejected her Messiah. Instead of the Messiah setting up the prophesied kingdom of Israel,  he ascended into heaven after his resurrection. His establishment of the prophesied kingdom has been postponed,  but not omitted from God's plans. It was after Israel’s rejection of Jesus that God revealed the mystery to the Apostle Paul,  which had been hidden since the world began (Romans 16:25).

I promise you this, there will not be "Joy to the World" in this present dispensation.

Romans 5:1-2
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

We can have peace with God, but there will not be peace on the earth, because sin still exists and Satan is still in power. 2 Corinthians 4:4 calls him the "god of this world." We are saved by trusting the gospel of the grace of God (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 & Ephesians 1:13).

It's interesting to know what you're singing.

Each verse of the song is geared toward the future. Verse 1 is about his coming. Verse 2 is about Christ's future dominion. Verse 3 is a out destruction of sin and even the curses it has caused. Verse 4 is about His righteous rule and Godly Kingship.

Read the lyrics again

Verse 1

Joy to the world! The Lord is come;
Let earth receive her king;
Let every heart prepare him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

Verse 2

Joy to the earth! the savior reigns;
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

Verse 3

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make his blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

Verse 4

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of his righteousness,
And wonders of his love,
And wonders of his love,
And wonders, wonders, of his love.

The Third Option

I remember going to the eye doctor as a child and always hearing the optometrist ask, “Which one is better? Is it this one (as he would flip the lenses) or is it the second one?” Over and over and over again…  I would sit there and almost be bored with the question. I sometimes wished that we could just have a third option that would be perfect right away, so I would not have to have my head crammed in what looked like an R2-D2 helmet. The third option is not always on the table though, right?

This may be true in many of life’s situations, but thankfully this is not the case in bible study. Among most denominational threads, there are usually two opposing thought processes. Some examples would be:

  • Calvinism vs. Arminianism
  • Eternal Security vs. Loss of Salvation
  • Faith vs. Works
  • Dispensational vs. Covenantal
  • Full Atonement vs. Partial Atonement (Do I need to pray for forgiveness?)
  • Water Baptism vs. Spirit Baptism
  • Coming Kingdom vs. Spiritual Kingdom

Whereas it may seem that there are only two sides to these stories, there’s more to it than the good ol’ Baptist versus Church of Christ dilemma here in the south.

There is, to all of these points, a third option that, by most, is being overlooked. The answers come from a Mid-Acts/Pauline perspective. To sum up what that means, it can be expressed this way:

Prophecy vs. Mystery

Prophecy: (Acts 3:19-21) The things of prophecy consist of information that had been made known, since the world began; this information was spoke of by the prophets and was written down as common knowledge. Most of this information was shared during a dispensation where the Mosaic law was in effect.

Mystery: (Romans 16:25) The things of the mystery consist of information that had been kept secret, since the world began, until they were made known, firstly, unto the Apostle Paul, as he was the Apostle of the Gentiles and the hand selected of Christ for the task of carrying and making known the dispensation of grace.

Most of these denominational arguments are hit back and forth across the table, as if it is a game of theological ping-pong. This will continue in most of today’s Christian thought, because both sides of the argument, no matter the denomination, do not possess the ability or desire to rightly divide the word of truth, by dispensationally discerning the information being covered. The arguments are ultimately futile, due to the fact that most of the points made are both erroneous because of the lack of proper application. Here are a couple of examples:

Eternal Security vs. Loss of Salvation

Baptist: we do not lose our salvation, but if a person lacks “good fruit,” he or she either was never saved or they are “backslidden.”

Church of Christ: we will lose our salvation if we do not maintain our good works or “endure to the end.”

Mid-Acts: we are “saved by grace, through faith.” Our works have nothing to do with our initial salvation or continuing salvation status.

Water Baptism vs. Spirit Baptism

Baptist: we are saved when trust the gospel (most of the time; it is sometimes said when one “asks Jesus to be Lord of their life” or “asks Jesus into their heart”), but it is necessary, not for salvation, to be fully “obedient” to the will of Jesus. It is often said by this denomination that water baptism is an “outward representation of an inward change;” one would be hard-pressed, due to its lack of existence, to find any scriptural reference to back this idea up.(I, sadly, am guilty of trying to make this square peg fit into the round hole in the past. I was a Baptist making excuses for our doctrine. There's no integrity in defending something that even you yourself are struggling with.)

Church of Christ: we must repent and be water baptized for the remission of sins.

Mid-Acts: we are baptized by the Holy Spirit, into the body of Christ, at the moment we believe and trust the gospel (Jesus’ death and resurrection 1 Cor. 15:1-4). Water baptism is not necessary or instructed for this dispensation. See Ephesians 1:13, 1 Corinthians 1:17 and 1 Corinthians 12:13

The list honestly goes on and on. It is a sad day when people fight on how to paint inside of the lines, without even realizing that there is an entirely different picture to be working within. Just know, the third option is now on the table.

It’s called Mid-Acts Dispensationalism.

“Ultra” and “hyper” are tagged on as derogatory/ignorant prefixes.

Right division is the only way to accurately handle God’s word. It’s time to stop fighting the wrong fight. We have answers to the questions because we ask the questions that no one else will ask. Your life will quite literally change when you are able to clearly, without making denominational excuses, see and explain ALL of the Bible. Due to proper dispensational discernment, one can find out who the audience is, what is being spoken and who it applies to. In the words of Disney’s, Aladdin and Jasmine, “It’s a whole new world!”

Thanks for taking the time to read about the “third option,”

-Alan

Why so Dispensational?

I don't personally know anyone named Frank, but let me be him for a minute. There is no need in worshiping dispensationalism or Paul... It is ridiculous to think that anyone except the Lord, Jesus Christ should be exalted and held as the pinnacle of Christianity. But here's the deal:

1.) If you do not understand the dispensations in your Bible, you cannot "properly" serve Jesus Christ, because you don't have a pattern. (You're going to the "altar" at church to confess sins, tithing and trying to keep your salvation when all 3 of those are unnecessary and obsolete in the "Dispensation of Grace. ")

2.) If you do not understand the dispensations in your Bible, you do not know the gospel you are saved by and you possibly will not be saved.
(-John the Baptist - Repent and be baptized.

-Jesus - Repent and be baptized; believe on Jesus' name.

- Peter and Apostles, after the ascension of Jesus, Repent and be baptized;  believe on Jesus;  Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

- Paul- Believe and what Jesus has accomplished on the cross, by dying for your sins and resurrecting to give you justification.

Which one are you banking on for your savation? Because all 4 are different! )

3.) If you do not understand the dispensations in your Bible, you do not know how to operate as a believer.
(Jesus - sell all you have and follow me.

Pentecost- sold all they had and had all things in common. Acts 2 and 3

Dis. Of Grace- Every man is to work and provide for his family.

Which one is correct??? Depends on what pattern you are following.)

Here is a thought provoking quote in the forward of a book entitled

"History of Dispensational Thought... and why it matters"

"For a Christian not to know what a Bible dispensation is or to be unaware of biblical dispensationalism would be almost as incongruous as a forest ranger's being unable to tell one tree from another. Yet Christians often profess to never having heard the term "dispensation," or worse still, confuse dispensations as they appear in the Bible with the unscriptural dispensation of Roman Catholicism.

No forest ranger would set the woods on fire because he disrespected the trees; but Christians tear their Bibles to shreds (figuratively speaking) because they disrespect biblical dispensationalism.

No forest ranger would spend his entire career caring for just one tree and disregard the bigger picture of the forest as a whole, yet Christians commonly miss the big picture entirely because they are fixated upon some pet doctrines.

Way too many Christians have missed the forest for the trees. They have selected a tree or two to hug and treat the rest of their Bible as if those pages were dead leaves."

YOU MUST LEARN TO RIGHTLY DIVIDE TO HAVE INTEGRITY IN YOUR BIBLICAL UNDERSTANDING. WITHOUT IT, YOU'LL TELL A DIFFERENT STORY EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Who is Jesus (Part 1)

"Who is Jesus?" (Part 1)- Sermon Audio
Click above to listen to the lesson...

Who is Jesus? (Part 1)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

-John 1:1

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

-Colossians 2:10

1.) Jesus is Fully God

  • It was prophesied that God would have a Son, born of a virgin and we see that even as a baby, Jesus was worshipped in this manner.(Matthew 1:23 & Matthew 2:11)
  • Everything that exists today was created by Jesus. (John 1:3)
  • Jesus calls Himself “I am.” (John 8:58 & Exodus 3:13-15)
  • Jesus is equal to God; he humbled his position during His incarnation, not his being. (Philippians 2:6 & John 10:30)

2.) Jesus Became a Man

  • He became man; he put on humanity without subtracting his deity. (John 1:3,10,14, Hebrews 7:24)
  • He was made of a woman – (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, Galatians 4:4, Matthew 1:1, 16-18)
  • He ate, slept, cried, walked, touched, talked, bled, and died.
  • As man he is not required to sin or die – Hebrews 4:15, 2 Corinthians 5:21, John 10:17-18
  • He had body, soul, and spirit, when he died and rose – Luke 23:42-52, 24:39
  • His humanity does not diminish, abandon, remove, or give up his deity.

3.)Why Did God Become a Man?

  • Jesus was not half and half, that’s a creamer; He was FULLY both God and man. This is a salvation issue:

  • Christ could only die if he was man, he could only die for our sins if he was God.
  • To be a proper mediator - Hebrews 2:9-18, 1 Timothy 2:5, Galatians 3:20
  • To manifest God to man – 1 Timothy 3:16, John 1:18, 31
  • To sit on David’s throne – Luke 1:32, Acts 2:29-30, 2 Timothy 2:8
  • To be preeminent in all things – Colossians 1:16-18
  • To reconcile all things to himself – Colossians 1:20, Romans 8:19-21
Next week, we will address the topic of Jesus’ ministry to Israel, as well as his ministry to the Body of Christ, in the second part of our two week series entitled
    “Who is Jesus?”.

The Craziest (possibly only) Cult in Town

Grace Bible Fellowship is only officially about 2 and a half weeks old and has already gained the, what seems to be, popular title of "that Cult." I heard it tonight. This kind of leaves me torn. Part of me is happy that what we are doing is for sure seen as "different," but the other part is very confused. I am confused because I must have a different definition of a cult.

Most cults that I am aware of meet in secretive settings, for instance, the Free Masons or Jehovah Witnesses.
  • We however, as of now, moved from the living room to a senior center. Plus, we invite anyone to come out.
The cults I am familiar with demand material things from their people, such as money, or even in  some places, it is demanded you give up things like your home, clothes, or even your car; similar to a community communism setting.
  • We however do not ask for money, pass a plate or preach the necessity of giving; we place a box at the back for anyone interested in helping out with the rental fee. We don't even mention it during the teaching or preaching time. We encourage that each man give as he purposes in his heart, but not because of pressure or necessity. There are more churches in our area preaching heresy because of tithing than there are stores that sell bread.(Hersey because they preach the necessity of tithing to whatever measure. Offering is acceptable,  10% mandatory giving is putting people under the law. Wrong!!!)
The cults I know about are very closed off about their beliefs, unless you "become a member."
  • We do not have membership, unless you count preaching the gospel clearly, in hopes that people would trust it and "become members" of the Body of Christ, via the Holy Spirit(1 Corinthians 12:13). We post every lesson online and offer a Q&A; a session before and after each teaching or preaching session. There is not a church in this area as accepting to questions after every single lesson as we are. In fact, most preachers are offended when questioned about what they just preached or taught.
I have come to a conclusion... People come up with pigeon-hole names for things they do not understand. Many individuals, rather than addressing the issue by studying and approaching the one in error, take the opinion of others and write the new thing off. I understand this. I used to be this way. I say that to my shame.

Although we do not offer kool-aid for our guests to drink, we do offer God's Word, rightly divided, a time for Questions and Answers, plus an opportunity to clear up some of the confusion that comes denominationalism.

So in fact, we are the craziest cult in town. We are the only one of our kind. I write this with yes, a strict tone, but only because I want to challenge some minds. If Mid-Acts Dispensationalism is a cult, then why do we do absolutely NOTHING a cult is known for doing. We are a group of people who were tired of religion and denominational fluff, and who found answers to doctrinal questions, that no one could give answers to... The confusion is gone! That is why we are doing this.

Don't tag things you either do not understand, or do not know how to oppose as a cult, or some other derogatory name.

When a Just Man Ponders- Matthew 02

When a Just Man Ponders Matthew 02- verse-by-verse(Audio)
Click link above to listen

When a Just Man Ponders

Matthew 1:18-25

“But while he thought on these things, behold…”

Matthew 1:20

  1. The Engagement

  • Joseph and Mary were in an agreement of betrothal.
  • This was held to the same standard as being married, to a degree.
  • The only thing lacking was the soon to be wife leaving her mother and father, and becoming one flesh with her husband.
  • The only way to end the betrothal was a legal consent of divorce. (Deuteronomy 24:1 & Deuteronomy 22:22-24)

  1. The Virgin Conception and Birth

  • During the time of betrothal, being caught in adultery was something deserving of death, according to the law. (Isaiah 7:14 & Galatians 4:4-5)
  • Mary was not just in an opportune place of accusation, but was pregnant!
  • Emmanuel had been conceived. God willingly took the form of a babe in the womb. (2 Samuel 7:12-16 & Philippians 2:3-11)

  1. Joseph’s Decision

  • Just imagine the anxiety Joseph must have been experiencing.
  • Two things are for sure: 1.) Joseph was just before God (Job 1:1) and 2.) he loved Mary with an uncommon love.
  • Joseph was a man of faith and one of responsibility. Today, God is not choosing specific men for specific tasks, but he has chosen Christ to be the fulfillment of His purposes and chooses us “in Christ” when we trust the gospel.

  1. Operating According to God’s Plan

  • Mary and Joseph were chosen by God’s to fulfill His purposes.
  • We fit into God’s plan when we are saved. (Galatians 1:6 & 2 Thessalonians 2:14)
  • Jesus(God) became a man.
-We have been chosen, predestinated, in Christ, by God’s grace. (Ephesians 1:5 & Romans 8:28-29)
-All individuals have a choice to make: trust or doubt God’s plan. (Romans 10:17 & Ephesians 1:13)
-Though, at this point in time, Jesus became a man in the flesh and came for Israel only, we also know that because of the revelation of the mystery, we can be saved and become a new man. (Matthew 15:24 & 2 Timothy 1:9)
We have been made just (righteous- 2 Cor. 5:21) in Christ Jesus, so if you as a just man or woman begins to “think on these things” (looking at your circumstances), just remember what the Lord has made clear to be his plan, by way of the revelation of the mystery. This mystery information concerns a change in our views on doctrine, life, relationships, church and eternity.

-Ambassadors Missing the Boat and Swimming in Prejudice Waters-

Are we missing the boat on being ambassadors for Christ, simply because we are allowing our flesh to still have control of our eyes? What do we see when we look at people? Do we see skin color? Do we see gender?  Do we see their pasts and not their future? Do we see their rep, rather than their need of salvation that only comes from the gospel of the grace of God?

Racism and prejudices are sickening.

I know that as a man who still has flesh to deal with, I have tendencies to allow the old man to flare up. I even have to bring myself into submission so that I do not become blatantly disgruntled with people, knowing that we wrestle not against flesh and blood. We battle daily to remember that we have been crucified with Christ and that our lives are not our own. We have been bought with a price and we need not live for ourselves....

But the point of me saying that is this:

Galatians 3:27-28
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

If you are saved, you need to WAKE UP... There are 3 things that now have no place in your life:

1.) We do not, with prejudice, view people differently because of his or her nationality.

2.) We do not, with prejudice, view people differently because of his or her public status

3.) We do not, with prejudice, view people differently because of his or her gender.

This is the beauty of being baptized into the body of Christ(NOT WATER; READ 1 CORINTHIANS 12:13). We are all equals when it comes to the cross. We have all been infected with sin, because we are all seed of Adam. We are all in need of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. We may, as men and women, have different roles, but we all have the opportunity to share in on the greatness and wonder of the love of God.

Christian,  get rid of that heart of distinction. In the dispensation of grace that God gave to Paul first to preach, there is no such thing. There is freedom from sin and religion in the cross of Christ! We have all been brought into the same body if we are saved. For those on plane earth who are not yet saved, that is our mission and commission. We are ambassadors on this planet. We represent our Savior and our God; what a privilege and responsibility.

Who have you overlooked just today, because of your prejudice heart and prideful mindset. We who know the love of Christ should be bursting forth to share the love of Him who gave himself for us, so that we could be made the righteousness of God in Christ. GRACE IS NOT A LICENSE TO SIN, BUT RATHER A LIBERTY NOT TO SIN. We have been made free from the bondage of sin and death.

We are missing out on our Christ given purpose as ministers of reconciliation when we intentionally avoid people because of their flaws. Those flaws you do not particularly like are the same flaws that Christ gave himself for. We have been made to be at peace with God. How wonderful is it that he not imputing out trespasses to us today. Being separate is a doctrinal and sanctification issue, yes, but being separate does not mean that we remove ourselves from our political, yet spiritual positions, as ambassadors.

We have been made new. We have been made righteous. We are now justified. Glory to God!!!

Realize who you are today in Christ Jesus and get back on the boat. Quit swimming in waters of sin. Your identity is no loner sinner, but saint. Quit pretending to be something you are not. Live FREE IN CHRIST!

The Question that Challenges EVERYTHING You Ever Believed

The Question that changes everything in selecting where you stand in understanding the New Testament:

Did Jesus and Peter preach the same gospel as the Apostle Paul, who was instructed by Jesus to preach his gospel, did?

This seems like an illegitimate question at first... but given a little thought,  the answer to this question is breathtaking. Before looking at some clear cut answers to the given question, let's make some resulting implications. If Paul did indeed preach a different gospel, what all would this mean for us today?

Conclusions Followed out to there Logical End:
1.) Matthew, Mark, Luke and John would not contain doctrine for the church, the body of Christ.

2.) Jesus ' earthly ministry would not be the pattern for us to follow.

3.) "Repent and Be Baptized" would not make sense, concerning Paul's gospel.

4.) Salvation really would be by faith only, and not works also.

5.) The Church of today would find it's pattern and instruction exclusively from the Apostle Paul.

6.) We would not be considered to be a part of the covenant promised to Israel. (New Covenant)

7.) We would not be bound by any works or laws for salvation.

So... If one just reads the list without asking and answering the question above, these would seem to be the most heretical statements ever made, concerning the bible.
We better answer the question, but it only takes a minute.

Just two verses alone, along with many more if need be, can prove for sure that there were indeed two opposing gospels being preached.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And

Luke 18:31-34
Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.    For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:    And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.  And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

Well, how can it be that Paul's gospel considered Jesus' death to be for our sins and his ressurection to be a glorious thing, while just years earlier, the disciple were confused and afraid to ask when Jesus spoke of His upcoming death, and this still be the same gospel?

The answer is simple. They are not the same.

Jesus' earthly ministry was for Israel only (Romans 15:8).

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are the books that give an overview to a story that you and I are not apart of.

What does this mean? Refer back now to the list of 7 questions that were followed out to there most logical conclusions,  according to this theory.

Though these are just a few of the outcomes of the "Revelation of the mystery," the bible offers many, many more evidences as to what is taking place today in the "Dispensation of Grace. "

What you just read and learned from God's Word is something that you will not find coming from any church or any ministry within a hundred miles of here, except for Grace Bible Fellowship.

If you know of anyone that does, please let me know.

As for the future,
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Matthew Verse-by-Verse 01

Genealogies and the Wisdom of God

Genealogies and the Wisdom of God

                                 (Matthew 1:1-18)

“The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”

-Matthew 1:1

1.) Individuals in the Genealogy

· The purpose of showing the lineage of Christ is to prove not only his Jewish heritage and bloodline, but to prove his position as the Messiah and promised “Son of David.” (King of Israel)     ( 2 Samuel 7:12&16, John 8:56, Revelation 22:16)

· Abraham: Receive Blessing, Bless All Nations, and Land (Genesis 12:3, Genesis 22:18, Genesis 15:18).

· Judas(Judah): God promised the kingdom would come through his seed, all the way to Shiloh, or Messiah (Genesis 49:10)

· Phares and Zara: Twins. Thamar: Mistaken, by Judah, as a harlot. Jesse: Father of David. David: defeated Goliath, man after God’s own heart (Uriah, the man David murdered over Bathsheba is mentioned). Solomon: Wisest man to ever live and richest king of his time. Josiah: became king when he was 8; he did what was right in the sight of God.

2.) Where it All (could have) Gone Wrong

· In Jeremiah 22:30, we see God instructs the prophet to tell Jechonias a horrifying message that could have very well negatively impacted the lineage of the Messiah.

“Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.”

· How would it be that God could make such a statement, but then still stay faithful to his promises to Abraham and David?

· In fact, many use this verse to say that:

-The kingdom is already here and Jesus will never really occupy the throne of David.

-Jesus could not be the Messiah, because of Joseph’s spoiled bloodline.

-Jesus’ lineage is legitimate, up until the point of Jechonias.

3.) God’s Wisdom vs. Satan’s Schemes

· Satan, ever since his fall from his heavenly status, has been on the hunt to spoil God’s plans. He has done this in a number of ways:

-Garden of Eden-Job-Sin and Bloodlines -Temptation of Jesus -Judas Iscariot -Jesus’ Death-Fall of Israel

· God’s wisdom and knowledge are unattainable and unstoppable. He is wiser than anyone or anything. He has no mishaps or unforeseen issues!  Just look:

· A Promise- Genesis 3:15

· Blessed God- Job 1:21

· Mary’s Line and Virgin Birth- Luke 3:23&Matthew 1:18

· God’s Word Prevails- Matthew 4:4,7,10

· Jesus Knew- John 13:27

· God had Planned This- 1 Corinthians 2:7

· God’s Wisdom Supersedes All Else- Romans 11:25-36

How Important is Doctrine?

Philippians 3:1-14

Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

What an awesome segment of scripture! It is not only evident that Paul was dealing with Jews who were religiously zealous in the law and overly confident in the flesh, but he also had come to grips with the temptation to do the same. He mentions some individuals who are "evil workers." These today just get labeled as "having different opinions." Paul actually calls them dogs.

Notice how Paul stresses the need of "forgetting those things which are behind." Many doctrinal hiccups, or even intentional errors, are often products of doctrinal baggage. Paul's point here is that he left his status, religious superiority and personal achievements so that he could fully pursue his identity in Christ. This is a very large predicament that Mid-Acts Dispensationalists find themselves in; they now understand God's Word, rightly divided, but cannot let go of the corruption of his or her denominational backgrounds. There is necessity in letting go of that "dung" so we can pursue "the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

It is stunning to read words like that when you compare today's churches attitude toward different, incorrect, doctrines.

There is definitely an attitude of indifference that comes from many Christians in conversation. "Some people just have different opinions." Really? Is that the instructional insight we have received?

1 Timothy 1:3-4
As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

Absolutely Not! Timothy personally received instructions in how to handle false doctrines. He was instructed to correct it and to charge the "some" who were teaching wrongly to clean up the act.

We have to remember, an ambassador is not only a representative, but is also responsible for defending a correct view of who the ambassador is representing.

1 Timothy 6:1
Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

Both our behavior and teaching is, along with our tolerance of both, in ourselves or other believers, is the determinant test of whether or not we are to be blamed for God's name and His doctrine being blamed. There is great responsibility in being ambassadors.

Titus 3:8-10
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

How serious was doctrinal purity in the early church? Not only were there strict orders to protect the doctrine by correct teaching, but also there was seriousness to avoiding individuals, after they were addressed, who were guilty to teaching things contrary to Paul's doctrine.

1 Timothy 4:16
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Timothy was warned of the importance of keeping himself and his audience from false doctrines. (The "save" here refers to saving an individual from wrong doctrine, not salvation. )

May we pick up the charge of Paul and do the same in the church today. May we efficiently and boldly represent our Savior and the Pauline doctrine He has given for the church today!

Grace Bible Fellowship's Statement of Faith

Grace Bible Fellowship’s

Statement of Faith

(The points that follow are biblical, as well as dispensational, parameters within which Grace Bible Fellowship will operate and function.)

· We believe that Jesus Christ is the fullness of the Godhead bodily, was born of a virgin, was without sin, and has always possessed all of the qualities and attributes of God, even during his earthly ministry.

· We believe in the one true God that is comprised of three distinct persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

· We believe that sin entered mankind through Adam’s disobedience, therefore all are born in Adam and are guilty of sin, leaving the individual deserving of an eternal judgment of hell.

· We believe that salvation is not obtained by work or deed, but only “by grace, through faith,” in the shed blood of Christ’s finished work on the cross for forgiveness of sins and in Christ’s bodily resurrection for justification unto eternal life.

· We believe that God has inspired His Word through the penmanship of man, and has  preserved His complete Word in the English language by way of the King James Bible and is our final authority in all matters; we can trust our bible.

· We believe that all of scripture is useful for our learning and is to be taken literally, unless the direct context of the passage requires allegorical or metaphorical usage.

· We believe that God has progressively revealed his instructions to mankind over the course of time and that proper Bible study occurs when attention is paid to the details of these revelations, specifically marking the difference between prophecy information, which had been spoken about since the world began and mystery information, which had been kept secret until revealed to the Apostle Paul.

· We believe that God has purpose to have dominion in both heavenly places and on the earth and has made a distinction between Israel and the body of Christ to accomplish this purpose.

· We believe that in time past, God dealt with mankind through his earthly people, Israel, through covenants and promises, but today God is dealing with mankind in this dispensation of grace through his heavenly people, who fill the role of ambassadors, which is the church, the body of Christ, who are a “new creature,” and not individuals grafted into Israel or partakers of their covenants.

· We believe that God specifically set aside the Apostle Paul to be the apostle of the Gentiles and that the instructions for the order and operation of the church today are found only in Paul’s epistles.

· We believe that God has, until the conclusion of the dispensation of grace, suspended Israel as His conduit of blessing to the world, but will someday continue his prophesied operation with His chosen nation, making true the statement, “all Israel shall be saved.”

· We believe that the church is the “pillar and ground of truth;” compromising this biblical definition, which would be anything outside of the order of the Pauline instruction set forth as “for the perfecting of the saints,” “for the work of the ministry,” “and for the edifying of the body of Christ,” causes the assembly to no longer be a properly functioning establishment of God.

· We believe the one baptism for the church today is the baptism into Christ’s body by the Holy Spirit and that baptism occurs at the moment of salvation of the individual.

· We believe that old covenant tithing is obsolete in this dispensation of grace, but we readily encourage the cheerful giving, not of necessity, of the believer for all intended purposes of supporting the ministry of God; each individual should give, if he or she gives at all, as purposed within that individual’s heart.

· We believe in a future heaven where the body of Christ will forever reign, a damnable place called hell that has been created for the literal Satan and those who also continue in rebellion towards God, and a future earthly kingdom that will be established and maintained by Jesus Christ, in which does not include those saved in the dispensation of grace.

New Beginnings

Just a year ago, I was a full blown denominational guy; I was sincerely riding the Southern Baptist bus. I had made a lot of personal faith milestones, but had many that still needed to be reached. I had already begun to see some really significant distinctions that had drastically made some changes in my theology. Some of the beginning stage changes included water baptism, the application of certain New Testament books, and the distinction between law and grace.

As of today, I am so blessed to be able to say that I know how to rightly divide my bible. I understand God’s purpose of choosing Israel and how He is not finished with that nation. I understand that God selected Apostle Paul to be the “apostle of the Gentiles.” I can illustrate what books in our bible are directly applicable to the body of Christ and which books are directed specifically to Israel (James 1:1 & simply the title of the book of Hebrews is a really good start). I understand that Israel and the body of Christ are distinctly different. The biggest thing that I understand, and wish I would of had the chance to learn as an adolescent, is the difference between prophecy and mystery (Acts 3:19-21 vs. Romans 16:25).

Through coming to understanding right division and meeting such a great group of like-minded believers, I am so HAPPY to announce that we are forming an assembly that will be known as “Grace Bible Fellowship.” Understanding how to study our bibles is great; having small group bible studies is a useful time. While bible studies are good and necessary, these small groups of bible students cannot fully fulfill the ministry outline God has given for the church to follow. I am so excited to see a group of assembled saints learning and growing, but most importantly, I anticipate seeing this group being able to effectively minister the gospel and fill the role of ambassadors of Christ.

We want to see individual souls saved, saints edified, and people from all denominational backgrounds be able to “see what is the fellowship of the mystery (Ephesians 3:9).”
